Favorite Color: Lavender
Favorite Food: Chinese or Mongolian Favorite Books: Harry Potter Books and Ghost the novel Favorite Subject: Math Favorite Animal: Pandas!! Favorite Activity: Reading My name is Claire (as you all know) I have a sister who is 12 and a brother who is 7. I have a chihuahua named Ruby who is 3. My Mom works at this school as a secretary and my Dad works at John Deer. My favorite animal is a panda for 3 reasons 1.) There are SUPER CUTE 2.) There are super fuzzy 3.) They are really playful. My old school was Prairie Trail Elementary, there I met many people. Then I came here, I got to know many people too. The first person I met was Avery from Mrs. Vier's class. This year I also met a lot of new people, the only people that had been in my class already (or I knew them really well) was Daniel, Owen, Jesus, and Ella. The number can very depending on what event you are competing in. It can also very depending on if anyone qualified for that certain sport. The first Olympics was in 1896. There were only 9 sports, athletics, cycling, swimming, wrestling, biking, fencing, gymnastics, shooting and weightlifting. They are still part of the Olympic games but there has been many changes over the years. It used to also depends on who is hosting the games. Now days the IOC (International Olympic Committee) decides what sports are to be played. There has also been games that have tried out to be in the Olympics but are never part of the official Olympic games. Many games come and go but once they are gone they are not gone forever. For instance golf returned to the Olympics after being gone for 112 years.
One person you need to watch at the winter Olympics is Nathan Chen. He is a figure skater, skating for the US. He is related to Chinese immigrants. He is 18 years old and has already figured out how to do four spins in one leap. Another person you should watch at the winter Olympics is Lindsey Vonn. She is an alpine skier. She skis for the US too. She is 33 and has won 4 world cups. One final person you should watch at the winter Olympics is Evgenia Medvedeva. She is a Figure skater who skates for Russia. She is only 18 but she is already a two time world champion. This year though, she will not be skating for Russia she will be skating as and individual. (for reasons I do not need to mention.)
