Are unicorns real? You probably know the answer but scientists say unicorns are real. But only in your imagination. Ancient myths and stories have been passed down and unicorns exist in many children's minds. The unicorn legend started in the fourth century B.C., when Ctesias heard tales of one horned donkeys as big as horses with white bodies, red heads, blue eyes and horns that were 18 in. long. In history there were many people who reported seeing a unicorn. Over time the stories changed and it became the legend of the unicorn a magical creature that had the ability to fly or had healing powers. Many people describe the unicorn with a magical horn too! Recently scientists have found different animals such as the one horned deer and they believe that some of these animals could have started the legend of the unicorn.
On September 11 everything was going normal until 8:46 that morning when a hijacked plane full of passengers crashed into the North twin tower. Many people thought it was just a horrible accident. But at 9:03 that same morning when a second hijacked plane crashed into the South tower, people knew they were under attack. The fuel from the plane caused both towers to catch fire killing many people. Then, at 9:37 am another plane flew right into the pentagon, killing 125 people. The final plane crashed on it's way to D.C. in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, when a passenger took control of the plane. That day the South twin tower collapsed and half an hour later the North tower collapsed too. Sadly 2,996 people died that day. But many people came together and rebuilt New York. Now two water fountains sit where the twin towers used to stand.
I read the article "How Do Cats Always Land on All Four Feet?" in Wonderopolis. It turns out that cats do not always land on four feet if the fall is around 12 inches or less. Cats have a very flexible back, a light bone structure, and an instinct that when they fall they automatically know which way is down. So once they know which way is down they shift their body so they will land on all four feet, and their fur also helps soften the landing.
